THE WORLD IS CHANGING, AND I AM CHANGING WITH IT...
Hola mi amigos! This week was pretty fun, crazy busy and pretty hard.
Learning Spanish is hard and teaching in Spanish is hard because I can't speak the language super well, but that will come eventually.
Last thursday was pday and we went to Sol! We took the metro, walked around and went to a bunch of different stores. And then we went to McDonald's and got a coke. It was incredible.
On Saturday we went to the park to go proselyte again. My companion was Elder Peterson, and he doesn't speak a ton of Spanish since he's learning Russian so it was a lot more pressure on me. I did my best to talk to everyone we passed and we ended up hanging out 6 Book of Mormons, so I think we did okay! And when we got back on the metro to go back to the mtc, Elder Peterson and I felt like we needed to talk to one more person. So we were talking to some guy (who ended up actually being a member) and some woman came up to help us translate. We ended up talking to her for like 15 minutes about The Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and the Plan of Salvation! We gave her a BOM and a pamphlet on the Plan of Salvation, it was awesome. It really strengthened my testimony about following prompting from the spirit.
On Sunday I got to help with the sacrament which was super cool. I got to push this guy in a wheelchair to give people the sacrament which was harder than it sounds. After we gave everyone the bread, I pushed him back to the sacrament table and bumped his feet really hard into the edge... some people laughed (including him) and it was a little embarrassing because it was right in front of the bishop and the mtc president. Oh well..
On Monday we had to set goals for how many words and phrases we wanted to know by the time we leave the mtc. The minimum amount of words they want us to memorize is 1500 and they want us to memorize at least 250 phrases. I'll be lucky if I memorize 30 words and 10 phrases.. Oh man Spanish is harder than I thought
On Tuesday it was Halloween and we got a lot of candy! It was sweet haha! During our actividad física today, Elder Kohlström kicked the soccer ball super hard and it flew over 2 fences. After that, we couldn't play anymore.. It was pretty funny. Elder Sorenson and I talk about the NBA a ton in our room and I love it. I miss basketball
Wednesday was kinda long. We just had a grammar lesson (We have one everyday) and then studied and prepared our lessons. We challenged our fake investigator yo be baptized and she said yes! So that's kinda cool. Also, I guess in Sweden they don't use urinals because Elder Kohlström never really uses it. But today I was peeing and he came to use the one next to me. I was like "dude what the heck?! I thought you didnt know how to use one of these!" And he looked at me all serious and said "The world is changing, and I am changing with it." I laughed for like 5 minutes after that
Thursday morning we went to the temple and it was pretty cool, but I was pretty tired and spaced out for like 30 minutes.
Love and miss you guys a lot, keep me updated on the jazz and NBA.
Also let me know when it snows and send me pictures, por favor!
Spiritual thought (kinda):
I'm using a thought from Josh Lampropoulos's homecoming talk because I think it's sick,
"Things will ALWAYS get better." Don't forget that.
Sorry for all the pics, but I hope you enjoy my beautiful face.
Have a good week,
