Feliz año nuevo

Hello, this is Mr Noah Johnson reporting live from Gandía, Spain (aka lit town USA). I hope you all had a super good Christmas and news years eve!! For emailing today, I forgot my journal so it might be a little less detailed than usual... sorry about that. Also, since next week is transfers I will be emailing on TUESDAY. Just so you know.

This week was pretty good! We have 2 investigators right now with a baptismal date! They are from Bulgaria and speak absolutely 0 English or Spanish so it's super hard to communicate with them. Luckily, we have the help of some Elders in the Bulgaria, Sofia mission to help us with that. This week they accepted the invitation to live the word of wisdom and it's been super cool to see how much they want to follow Christ I'm their lives!! Also, they've been trying to teach me Bulgarian which is really hard when they don't speak English or Spanish. They pretty much just make a gesture or point to something random and say a word that sounds like they're gargling marbles, then I nod like I understand and repeat the sound they made. I'd say my learning is going fantastic. By the end of my mission I'll be speaking Bulgarian and spanish and forget how to speak English haha!

Also, on Saturday we had a huge blessing! We've been really struggling to find people to teach because a lot of people just don't care. But on Saturday we found 9 new people to teach!! We've met with all of them and they all seem super interested and excited about our message!! I guess we'll see how it goes.

For new years eve, we went to the house of la familia Martinez, and they gave us steak for dinner and some weird party hats and masks that made us look like evil elves haha. Then for when the bell struck 12, we had to eat 12 grapes (1 grape at each strike) which was actually kinda hard and I almost died haha. The grapes here are bigger than in the US... plus the bell never went off, so we just did it on our own! It was still fun.

Today for pday, we went to the port in Valencia and just kinda wandered around haha, it was pretty relaxing.

I hope you all had a super good new years!! Make some decent goals for this year like, "eat more," "Send elder Johnson food," stuff like that.

Love you all,
Elder Johnson
