Intercambios are good
Yo what up? Sorry for all you people in Utah who are suffering without snow. If it makes you feel any better, there's no snow here either.
Here's the rundown of my week:
Martes: We had district meeting today which was good! Then we went to a burger place called Fitzgerald and it was so good!! The topic for district meeting was gratitude. Even though this lasts weeks been tough, I'm so grateful to be here doing my best to improve the lives of the people every day. We also had another intercambio today so Elder Beasley went off down here in Gandía. It was honestly probably my best day in the mission so far. None of our visits fired on us (we had 5), my spanish was good i think, and we extended a fecha (baptism date) to a kid named Brayan. It was super fun. With Brayan, his sister was there in the lesson and she testified so much to him. It was dope.
Miercoles: Still on the intercambio with Elder Beasley and we had bacon for breakfast so that was good. We went to Oliva and had a couple hours before our first visit so we decided to knock some buildings. The second door we knocked was a super nice man named Ruben. He opened the door, invited us in, sat us down and told us to tell him our message... It was so great. We taught the restoration and he loved it. He gave us his number and pretty much ordered us to come back and talk to him again. That was the best.
Jueves: Today I was with Elder Beasley and Jones in Catarroja because Elder Hale was in Barcelona for residency stuff. I watched them do weekly planning for 3 hours so that was fun, then we went and did some pass bys, and then they dropped me off at the train station to wait for Elder Hale. When we got back to Gandía, we visited Rosa (member), and then went to visit Ana maría and Maricela! It was a pretty good night and also my first time teaching the law of chastity haha... It was interesting.
Viernes: This morning we had weekly planning and Elder Hale had me do it alone to prove to him that i could. It was long, but not too bad. Then we were gonna have a lesson with Nasko and Desi but they were sick so instead, we spent 4 hours looking for a new piso. Our dueña is trying to raise the rent of our piso a ton so we are now looking for a new place to live haha.
(*Translation: I am writing this Sunday, I have to speak only in Spanish. It was more or less good. This morning, we visited with Laquita and we read the Book of Mormon with her. She is super awesome and she really wants to read it. In the afternoon, we knocked a building with 100 doors...wow. And came across 2 people from Bulgaria, named Dragomir and Tolya. We taught them the restoration and it went really well. We will give them a Book of Mormon in Bulgarian tomorrow.)
Domingo: Hola.
(*Translation: Hello. We had church today and Paquita, Nasko and De all came! It was so good. After church, we ate with Hermana Amalia and Jose Aparicio ( both members). She always cooks us the best food. I thought to take a photo but I forgot. Sorry mother. After this we brought a Book of Mormon to Tolya and Dragomir and they were so super excited to read it! Tonight we had choir rehearsal and it was really fun, like always. It is crazy that I am finishing my training this week....really, time is flying.)
*NOTE from the mom: It is super exciting to me that with the Portuguese from my mission days that I can read and understand most of what Dylan and Noah write in Spanish. I'm sure it'll be much harder to understand it when he is talking and I can't see the written words;)
Lunes: (aka dia de P) Today was super fun! We had the whole district down here in Gandía and we hiked up to a cool cave on the mountains! We took a bunch of pictures in it on our phone, but the elders from Catarroja took our phone haha, so I'll send those next week.
Love you all and hope all is well in Utah/the world.
Elder Johnson
